Stephen D. Baggett, Jr.
President/CEO
Stephen D. Baggett, Jr. assumed the position of President/CEO of GCCF in September of 2024. He most recently served as the Executive Director of Greenwood Housing & Community Development, formerly known as Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity, having served in this role since 2019. Previously, Stephen practiced law for fifteen years as an outside general counsel for businesses, governmental bodies, healthcare providers, and nonprofit corporations, and a litigator for medical malpractice and other liability insurers. He remains a member in good standing of the South Carolina Bar.
Stephen is a member of First Baptist Church of Greenwood where he serves on the Missions Committee. He is a Past Assistant Governor of Rotary International District 7750 and a Past President of the Rotary Club of Greenwood. Stephen is the President of the Cherokee Hills Association and has also served on the boards of the United Center for Community Care, the Greenwood Family YMCA, the Lakelands Family YMCA, the Rotary Club of Greenwood, the Lander Foundation, the Burton Center Foundation, Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity, the Upper Savannah Land Trust and Greenwood Abbeville Little League.
He is a graduate of Furman University and the University of South Carolina School of Law and holds a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Texas at Austin. Stephen and his wife Lauren have two children, Lincoln and Elsie.

Mary Woodiwiss
Director of Grants and Projects
Mary has lived in Greenwood since 2007, and previously in Illinois, North Carolina, and abroad. She is a graduate of the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill). With her background in education and Christian formation, she has long been engaged with community outreach and development, formally and informally.
Mary joined GCCF in August 2015 and directs the foundation’s Community Impact granting cycles. She regularly meets with nonprofit and other community leaders throughout Greenwood County to stay informed about needs and successes in our community and to facilitate collaborative efforts in addressing current and emerging issues. Mary spearheaded the development of Greenwood Women Care and currently serves as Chair of this open membership giving collective. She is a Leadership Greenwood alumna and has served on various community boards of directors.
Mary and her husband, Ashley, are the parents of four daughters and three sons and have five grandchildren.

Carol Wood
Accountant
Carol Wood is a certified public accountant with more than 20 years of experience in accounting and financial management. She had a successful accounting career in both the public and private sectors, working with a large international accounting firm for ten years before becoming the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Professional Medical Products, Inc. It was that move that brought Carol and husband Joel to Greenwood. After the sale of Professional Medical Products, she served as Chief Financial Officer for Paradyme Human Resources Corporation in Columbia, South Carolina and Bison Investments, Inc. headquartered in Tampa, Florida.
Her background includes significant accounting and tax consulting, as well as experience in mergers, acquisitions and dispositions of businesses and business segments.
Ms. Wood received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Accountancy degrees from the University of South Carolina, where she has also been a guest lecturer. In 2005, she joined the faculty of Lander University, and was awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professor of Accounting in 2010. In 2012 she was selected to be the Director of the School of Management. Ms. Wood retired Emeritus Faculty from Lander in 2015. She continues to do financial consulting and has served as the Foundation’s accountant since 2013.
