Greenwood Women Care is committed to learning about needs and opportunities in Greenwood County and supporting nonprofit organizations that serve Greenwood County residents through our GWC Grants.

GWC Grant Application and Process
PLEASE NOTE:
Applications for 2024 GWC Grants were accepted from August 1-31, 2024. Updated documents for the 2025 GW Grants cycle will be added to this site in early 2025.
Information sessions for GWC Grants were held in July 2024 for those interested in applying for a 2024 GWC Grant. Although attending a session is not mandatory, it is recommended for a clear understanding of our granting process.
Grant Writing 101, a workshop offered at no cost to participants representing local nonprofits, is held annually in July.
Watch for details of our 2025 Grant Writing 101 workshop. This workshop includes a Funders Forum with representatives from local grantmaking organizations. Up to two persons per organization may attend. Although there is no charge for the workshop, space is limited, and registration is required.
Lakelands Counts
For current information about community indicators and services in Greenwood County, see Lakelands Counts.
Lakelands Counts is an easy-to-use platform that supports community improvement work in Abbeville, Greenwood, McCormick, and Saluda counties. It contains data, best practices, and resources, and hosts over 140 health and quality of life data indicators. Users may customize maps and reports to visualize and analyze data.

GWC Women’s Health Grant
Greenwood Women Care (GWC) is pleased to announce the third award cycle for the GWC Women’s Health Grant.
The GWC Women’s Health Grant supports holistic care and health education to improve physical, mental, or social health and well-being. This grant is funded through a Field of Interest Fund endowed by Jim and Denise Medford and held by the Greenwood County Community Foundation.
The GWC Women’s Health Grant subcommittee developed the granting and evaluation process for this grant award. A single grant will be made to an organization working to improve women’s health. The anticipated amount (approximately $5,000) will be announced for each cycle. Funded projects should occur between April 1 of the current year and March 31 of the following year.
For the 2025 cycle:
Interested organizations should submit a brief letter of intent describing the project and need to gwc@greenwoodcf.org by 5:00 pm on Monday, February 3, 2025. Those organizations selected to apply for funding must submit the completed application by 5:00 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025. The GWC Women’s Health subcommittee will notify the grant recipient and all other applicants by March 31 and funds will be made available by April 15.

GWC Grant Writing 101
Grant Writing 101, a workshop featuring professional presenters and practical information on completing effective grant applications, is offered annually at no charge to local nonprofit staff and volunteers. Please see details of this year’s workshop in the Grant Application Process section above.
